About East Coast Gold
East Coast Gold is the digital sister service to East Coast Radio, the KwaZulu-Natal commercial station operated by Kagiso Media. It launched on 4 November 2019, and East Coast Radio presents it as the first digital music station introduced by a South African commercial broadcaster. The format is English-language classic hits, described on the station's own pages as music from the 1960s, 1970s and 1980s. There is no broadcast frequency: East Coast Radio directs listeners to a dedicated stream on ecr.co.za, to the East Coast Radio mobile app for iOS, Android and Huawei devices, and to an Amazon Alexa skill. Administration and studios sit at East Coast Radio House in Umhlanga Rocks, and listener enquiries go to a dedicated East Coast Gold address.
